About

StoriesTyped is an independent literary imprint focused on how fiction works.

It selects and publishes classic works with new critical introductions, making the case for why they still matter.

Not as cultural artefacts, but as functioning pieces of craft.

Every StoriesTyped edition is built around a single principle: that a great book deserves a serious introduction.

Not a plot summary.

Not a Wikipedia entry dressed as criticism.

A genuine critical engagement with how the book is made, what it teaches, and why a working writer in 2026 would still find it worth reading carefully.

Because classic fiction is not finished.

It continues to teach, if it is read with sufficient attention.

Each edition includes a newly written introduction by StoriesTyped house writer G. H. Schreiber, two critical essays examining the text and its context, a full author biography, and modernised formatting optimised for Kindle.

The essays are written to stand on their own merits — the kind of criticism that adds something to a book a reader already loves, rather than simply describing it.

Alongside its classic editions, StoriesTyped runs a monthly Human vs. AI short story challenge — original fiction produced in response to a music video and five prompt words, judged blind, with both the human and AI stories published in full.

The StoriesTyped YouTube channel presents the opening pages of each classic edition as a silent read: typed on screen, one keystroke at a time, preceded by a short introduction from G. H. Schreiber.

This is not an audiobook.

There is no narration.

Just words, appearing.

Everything StoriesTyped publishes is available on Kindle.

G. H. Schreiber writes from the basement.
